Aunt Laurina O'Neill's Obituary

ALBANY:  Laurina O'Neill, 87, widow of the late Thomas F. O'Neill, died Thursday, June 26, 2003 at the Resurrection Rest Home in Castleton. Born in Sherbrook, Canada, she was the daughter of the late Hermidas and Cornelia Venn Bolduc. Laurina immigrated with her parents from Canada to the Albany area in 1923. She was educated in the Albany Parochial School System and received a diploma from Albany Business College in 1933. In 1936, she married Tom, who was subsequently killed in action in France in 1944 during World War II. In 1949, she went to work as a workmen's compensation insurance claims adjuster for what later became the Continental Insurance Company, retiring in 1974. During her retirement years, just as during her working years, she devoted her life to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was the mother of Thomas H. O'Neill (Bernice) of Castleton, Robert P. O'Neill (Lorraine) of Latham, John P. O'Neill (Suzanne) of Albany; sister of Yvette Murray of Delmar and the late Dora Wickham, Leo and Lomer Bolduc; sister-in-law of Eleanor Bolduc and the late Marcia Bolduc, Martin Wickham and David Murray; grandmother of Thomas F. O'Neill (Anna) of Nassau, Margaret Rivers (Jerry) of East Greenbush, Maureen Lavare (Darrell) of Castleton, Michael O'Neill of Rensselaer, Daniel O'Neill (Jennifer) of Castleton, Timothy O'Neill of Castleton, Mary McDonald (Michael) of Rensselaer, Robert O'Neill (Karen) of Escondido, Calif., James O'Neill (Leigh) of Glen Allen, Va., Anne Smith (John) of Rensselaer, Catherine Dartnell (Mark) of Bow, N.H., Jennifer O'Neill, John! O'Neill and Peter O'Neill (Kristin) all of Albany; 17 great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Funeral services Tuesday at 8:15 a.m. from the McVeigh Funeral Home, 208 North Allen Street, thence to St. Catherine of Siena Church, Albany at 9:00 a.m. where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Relatives and friends are invited and may call Monday, 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Interment at Calvary Cemetery will follow the mass.
