![]() Karen Harrison of Naples, Florida passed away on August 9, 2023 with her family by her side. She was 82 years old having been born September 2, 1940 in Fulton, New York to the late Willard and Margaret Anderson. After high school in Fulton she attended Buffalo State College where she received her B.A. degree. She taught elementary school in Niagara Falls, New York. She loved the kids and the kids loved her. Just before she graduated from college she met her future husband Milo Harrison, they married in 1964 and moved to Metuchen, New Jersey where she continued to teach. Karen was a very warm and self confident person who never knew a stranger. Her personality could light up a room. Her husband’s career required the family to move several times and Karen was always able to get the family settled quickly and then find golf partners and bridge players. She was an excellent bridge player and just like her mother, loved to play. She had a real zest for life. She and her husband traveled extensively and because of her love of her Irish ancestry, made several trips to Ireland. Karen was very proud of her Irish red hair and at age 82 her hair was still naturally red with no gray. Family was very important to her and she adored her grandchildren. Karen is survived by Milo, her husband of 58 years, three children, Milo David Harrison (Mary Beth) of Gurnee, Illinois, Margaret Longo (Luigi) of Naples, Florida, and Grace King (John) of Alpharetta, Georgia. Karen has 8 surviving grandchildren: Hannah, Aidan, Cole, and Greta Harrison; Olivia and Maria Longo; and Kathryn Chappell (Trystan) and Anne King. She was predeceased by her grandson Harrison King. She grew up in a family of 8 children. She is survived by 2 brothers, John Anderson and Neill Anderson. Visitation for Karen will be held Friday, August 25th from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Fuller Funeral Home at 1625 Pine Ridge Road in Naples, Florida. A mass will be held at Saint Ann’s Catholic Church in Naples at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday August 26. |
