Here's data I found on Willard (Will, as he was called) Anderson's NFL career with the Rochester Jeffersons. The NFL was formed in 1920 and the Rochester Jeffersons were one of the original teams in the league. (They folded the team in 1925.) The team won no games in 1923 and 1924. Will "played" for the team in 1923 and 1924 after graduating from Syracuse University. The roster's showed him at 5'10", weighing 173 lbs. Purportedly he received $25-$50 for each game. Looks like from the statistics below that he may have been overpaid.
*Rochester Jeffersons. The team was originally a sand lot team in Rochester and took its name from the street along which they played.
