Hi everyone! It was a joy to attend the 40th and see a great number of friends I haven't seen in a long, long time. My wife of 33 years and I have lived in Baldwinsville for the past 25 years. We have two sons. Dan is 28, married and lives in Dearborn, Michigan. He has an MBA from Ohio State and is developing Ford's e-business ventures. Jon is 22 and is in his senior year of college at Rochester Institute of Technology, studying to be an Illustrator. My wife is an elementary school teacher, teaching third grade here in Baldwinsville for the past 23 years. I work for Anheuser-Busch in Baldwinsville as the Software, Applications and Products (SAP) Administrator. I develop and implement processes used in our Maintenance and Engineering Operations and interface those with the financial side of the operation. I've spent about 27 years in the beer business in all different capacities. Prior to that I've done just about everything but milk a Yak in Mongolia! That was because! I never got to Mongolia. There's still time after I retire within the next two years.

I'd love to hear from anyone who has the time and/or inclination to write. I don't know about the rest of you all, but my high school friends are the ones I remember and think about most. I believe we were a really great group of young men and women. From the looks of the bio's I've read, we all have a lot to be proud of.

John, thanks for taking the time to put this website together. I know it will give us all a golden opportunity to re-kindle relationships that time has dimmed and cooled.

Update: 01/28/05: Retired from Anheuser-Busch in February, 2004. Ellen has another year to go then we plan to re-locate to Asheville, NC.

Update: 08/03/06: Ellen and I are now retired and will move into our new (to us) home in Asheville, NC at the end of August.  We both are tired of the nasty Upstate NY winters and the declining quality of life in the Syracuse area.  Both of our sons are out on their own and doing well so there was nothing holding us here.  Asheville is located in the far western corner of North Carolina, nestled into the the junction of the Blue Ridge and Great Smokey Mountains.  We visited friends two years ago and just fell in love with the place.  We plan to travel to sights in the Southeast, an area we haven't seen much of.  I've rejuvenated my interest in scale model airplanes and have a wonderful space for a hobby shop in the new house.  We were going to build a new home, had bought a beautiful lot with full circle mountain views and had plans ready.  We found out that the pace of business down here was somewhat different than "up north" and after a year of frustration we abandoned the building idea and bought an existing home.  We still have the same email address and the new resident address and phone number has been updated.  If you're ever in the area, give us a call.  We would love to hear from you.

Update 01/28/08: Retired in 2004 from Anheuser-Busch.  When Ellen retired from  Baldwinsville School District after 29 years as an Elementary teacher, we decided  it was time to see some other parts of the country.  We had friends  who retired to Asheville, NC and were encouraged to visit.  We fell in  love with the place and moved here in August of 2006.  There are so many things to do and see, and of course the weather is a big step up from Central New York.  A BIG snowfall here is a whopping TWO inches...hardly more than a heavy frost back home.  Would love to hear from anybody out there.  I reviewed all the profiles and see that there a number of classmates who are also in the Southeastern area.  Don't be strangers!

Hello old classmates & friends! Here's my update of 41 yrs(not an easy task).

A few months after FHS I married the Navy (actually a sailor, but it's the same thing)...thus began my nomadic life. For the next 18 yrs I was on the move! I've lived in Brooklyn, NY...Washington, DC...Norfolk,VA...San Juan, Puerto Rico..Camp LeJeune,NC(4 times)...and I even lived in Fulton for a year--all before settling here in SC 25 yrs ago.

I was a "late bloomer" to the college scene...I went to college 3 mos. after my oldest child graduated from college! Never say die! Received my degree in Accounting in 1988.-But,the previous years were full of various jobs (since I moved so much). I've worked as a: bookkeeper...waitress (more times than I care to admit)...bartender ...accounting clerk (both AP & AR)...receptionist/switchboard...substitute teacher...stock display...assistant controller ...AND I've even "made the doughnuts"!!

I've been married twice...for almost 23 yrs the first time, 16 yrs this time. Not sure which spouse I like better...okay, so I married the same guy!!--We have 2 daughters and 4 grandchildren (2 boys & 2 girls). Our oldest, Rhonda, graduated from Clemson University and taught high school Spanish for 14 yrs, before changing to elementary level where she now teaches the gifted students and also English as a 2nd language. Our younger daughter, Heather, has been a "jack of all trades" until settling into being a machinist.

I work very part-time now...creating store window displays and tutoring Algebra (Miss Anagnost would be proud!)-My husband works in Security with Duke Power.

That about catches you up...it's been a long time! --Thanks, John! Great to catch up with our old classmates!

What a great idea! I meant to do this sooner, but first was having problems with my phone going in and out and then my computer crashed.

I married Jim Enderby June 24, 1977, almost 25 years ago, which is hard to believe. {I was married to Bob Arnold for 14 years and had 3 children with him.} Together Jim and I have 7 children and 12, soon to be 13, grandchildren. Bob, my oldest, will be 38 in a couple of days. WOW, does that make me feel old! He lives in Medina and has 2 sons and a daughter. My middle child is Mike, he lives in Sarasota and has one daughter. He is 34. My daughter, Renee, is 31 and lives with her husband in Rochester with their daughter. They are expecting another child in April. Then Jim has 3 sons and a daughter ranging in age from 43 to 37 and the other 7 grandchildren are from that side. Is Christmas shopping ever fun and all of those birthdays I have to keep track of!!

I taught first grade in the Medina Central School District for 35 and a half years retiring in June of 1999. I then taught myself how to make teddy bears thinking I had to have something to do besides read books, clean, cook and bake. I started a business and then got a call about a job mentoring non-tenure teachers in the elementary buildings in Medina. I wasn't even going to go for the interview, but got talked into it. That interview, my first in 35 years, was a little stressful. When I was offered the job I still didn't think I wanted to do it. But, I took the job and I love it. I only work 50 days a year which is kind of nice. And, like my husband tells people, it gives me a reason to dress up 2 days a week plus I still get to see all my friends that I taught with for so many years. The ones I am close to still work.

I can't wait to read all the profiles that have been sent in, I thought Linda Arduini had disappeared off the face of the earth. Take care everyone. I'll be waiting for the info on the 45th reunion, there will be one, won't there?

After high school, I went to Oswego State, majoring in Ed/History. I then taught in Fairfax County, Virginia before moving to Long Island in 1966. On Long Island, I took a job teaching American History at the junior high level in the Farmingdale School District. I taught at the aforementioned school for 31 years before retiring in 1997. During my 31 years at Farmingdale, I coached soccer, basketball and lacrosse. I began coaching the Farmingdale varsity lacrosse team in 1968 and continue to coach it now, even though I am retired from teaching. I love it. I don't like dwelling on my accomplishments but I guess the purpose of this is to inform our former classmates of such things. I coached the 1992 U.S. Junior World Team to a gold medal (What a feeling that was especially being an American History teacher...my eyes got very teary when they played the Star Bangled Banner at the medal ceremony). Last year I won my 500th game which is 3rd on the all time list in the U.S. I was inducted into the Long Island Lacrosse Hall of Fame in 1992. No, I never played lacrosse (great game by the way) but my basketball background helped immensely. I was married to Maria Claps in 1995 and have 3 children, Nancy 33, a math teacher, Greg 26, a technology teacher and Jill 24, an elementary teacher. I am currently co-owner of Four Star lacrosse camp and I'm enjoying my retirement greatly...playing golf, puttering around at home and coaching my lacrosse team We have a summer house on Lake Ontario @ Mexico, N.Y. where we enjoy much of the summer and take in those beautiful sunsets.

I am finally out of the classroom. This year the entire LA school system adopted a new reading series. In order to implement it completely they hired literacy coaches to help the teachers get started. So I am a literacy coach and I am enjoying it immensely. The down side is that I have to work many more days than a regular teaching schedule. When I complain Leigh says, "Welcome to the REAL world!"

Addendum: John requested more information...so here it is. I hope it is not more than anybody wants to hear.

Leigh and I were married right out of college and a year later, with a new baby (David) in arms we set off for the BIG City,.NYC. Leigh worked for AFS, I taught and David grew for 3 and a half years. Then Leigh decided it was time for a masters degree so we moved to CA where he went to USC and I taught. A year later(1971) Bill was born and we set off for Kenya, Africa.  Leigh had taken a job training Peace Corps volunteers. So we arrived there with a 6 year old and a three week old. After two months there we decided it would be a waste of a ticket to just go straight home so we traveled through Ethiopia, Egypt, Lebanon, Greece and Italy.  As you can imagine the mother in this group was pretty tired when we finally arrived back in CA. Leigh took a job with ACTION (umbrella agency for all federal, domestic volunteer programs and I taught. (Are you seeing a pattern here?). We stayed here for several years and then went to the Middle East for about 6 years in Yemen, Saudi Arabia, Oman! and Egypt. Leigh can tell more about that if he ever gets around to it. David lives near by with his girl friend. He is an assistant cameraman and she is a set designer. Bill and his wife, Lisa, also live near by. They are both attorneys. I think our long marriage owes a lot to our many adventures. We still love to travel and spent three weeks in Italy this fall. Well, is this enough John? We are both enjoying all the profiles. Leigh has added several names to the 1951 Walradt photo.

Update 11/23/02: We are happy to announce that we too are in the new grandparents club. Juliet Anderson Colitre was born on Nov. 6th to our son Bill and his wife Lisa Anderson. She weighed in at 6lbs. 12oz, not bad for 3 weeks early. They live close to us so we are privileged to see her often. What joy!!!

Our other big news is that we are moving overseas again. Leigh has taken a job in Athens. He will go in Jan. and I will join him when I retire in June. So much for being close to the baby! We have a very large apartment there ( 4 bed. 3 bath) so we hope y'all will come visit.

This is a great site! I married the first time right out of school. After 10 years, I tried the single mom routine. I had 3 boys. Could not find suitable employment so I ended up back in high school to get my diploma and additional training at BOCES. I was 29 the second time around. The first time in high school I was very quiet & extremely shy. Can't say that for the 2nd hitch. I met my husband through one of my classmates at BOCES! We had one more child a daughter. Dave is employed at Nestles as a machinist. I worked for 27 years for the Department of Social Services. I was a Supervisor when I took early retirement due to health problems. We lost our oldest son in 1985 due to an automobile accident. We have 12 grandchildren. I spend a great deal of time with the younger kids. Dave and I vacation in Florida a lot because we love deep sea fishing. Being handicapped has not interfered with that, thank God. When not involved with the grandkids, I do a lot of crocheting, knitting and I love to listen to audio books while doing the craft work. Barb York told me about this site and I am so glad she did.

Shortly after leaving High School I joined the Navy. I married my first husband while in the Navy and became pregnant which meant I had to get out of the Navy. Nine months and one day after having my first child I had my second. I was a stay at home mom for many years.

After 10 years of marriage I got divorced and began drinking heavily. I bummed around from job to job for three years then married again in an effort to get sober. During this marriage I found a 12 step program that helped me stop drinking.

After a second divorce I married again becoming an O'Brien and was married to him for ten years until his death. I drove a school bus for Red Creek Central during this time.

After my husband's death I went to college getting my AS degree and a certificate in Substance Abuse Counseling and today I have the right to put CADC after my name. All this while working full time. During this time I moved to CA to be near my children and to get away from the cold and snow of NY. I got a job with Glenn County Health Services as a substance abuse counselor just before graduation and have been there since 1990. I am now the Senior counselor. I have also furthered my education earning many certificates and more letters, most of which I never use.

My oldest son, Charles, retired from the Navy in April 2002. Although he could have retired in October and the paper work was complete, he decided to stay instead of retiring after 9/11/01 and I am proud of his decision. He is currently a Master Chief.

My son, Mike, joined the Navy and learned to become an accountant during his 8 year stay. He continued his college after leaving the Navy and now works for a credit union as an accountant in Salinas CA.

Charlie and his first wife gave me three beautiful grandchildren and by his third wife a grandson. Mike and Ruth had only one child and he is very intelligent and handsome and his bowling average at age 14 is 210.

I married again about 4 years ago but he relapsed in his addiction and became violent and I left, so now I am divorced again. I still have family in NY but don't go back and visit often. We keep in contact via Email.

I love it here in CA. I love my work except for the paper work which every government job requires. I also love the life I have today. I am still active in the 12 step program and am always busy with friends or grandchildren.  My health is great and I walk for 20 minutes every day.

I now own a double wide mobile home in a senior park. It is the first home I have every bought by myself with money I have earned and I am very proud of it. I have been taking some classes to learn how to do the repairs myself and have accomplished some including painting both porches.

I would love to hear from some of you.

Update 8/12/06:

After working for the County of Glenn for the past 15 years I have decided to retire on 12/28/06. I love my job as a Certified Substance Abuse Counselor but I have developed some serious arthritis in my right knee and hand. I use a cane to walk sometimes. So I wanted to retire while I have enough mobility to do some of the things I have always wanted to.

My son Charlie retired from the Navy two years ago and now owns a farm with his third wife adjacent to his in-laws-farm, He has two children by her for a total of 5 children but one is in college and the other intends to join the Cost Guard when he graduates in June. Charlie appears to be very happy. My other son Mike still lives in Salinas CA.

Other than the arthritis I am in fine health and still active in my 12 step program with over 30 years sober.

When I retire I will travel hopefully in May or June to Albany by car to visit my sisters and my mother. I also have some college courses I want to take just for the fun of learning and I have several places I will volunteer my time. When friends ask me what I will do with retirement I give them so many things I want to do they want to know when I will have time to relax and busy is how I want to spend my retirement years even if one day I have to do it from a wheel chair.

Update 10/14/09:

I did take that trip in my RV across the country after I retired. Loving American History I followed the Oregon trail back to Kansas City, then went to Fulton and Oswego, and finally to Albany where my family now lives. I traveled the coast and then to Virginia, finally taking the Santa Fay trail home.

Then last year I lost a lot of money in the stock market and watched a 401K disappear. All the years I saved so I could travel wiped out. So I haven't done much traveling since that trip. Just short trips to the mountains with the RV.

I keep busy with volunteer work at the Gold Nugget Museum and I teach a knitting class at the library. I have a lot of 12 step activities I participate in as well.

The arthritis in my knee is better because I lost a few pounds and I no longer need a cane. But my right hand is crippling up with it. I am still in great physical health.

My grandchildren are grown and either working or in college. None of them picked up their father's or my addiction. I am very close with them.

I am enjoying my retirement years. I will be at an international convention at the time of our 50th reunion but I would not have been able to afford to come to Fulton NY for it anyway. I send my regards to all of you.

Update 06/03/10:

I got a little board with so much time on my hands so I began looking for community service jobs. I currently am Mother Goose at our Library. I read to the pre-schoolers and dress in costume. Over the summer I am also reading to first and second graders and third and fourth graders.

I teach beginners at the local knitting group at the library and teach teens and preteens to knit after school. I joined the spinners guild and am learning to clean fleece, card it and spin it. That means I am learning the different kinds of wool and grading it. I have always wanted to make a garment from the fleece to the yarn.

I am also a literacy volunteer and active in service work for my 12 step group. And I still do all my own yard work and garden. I remain in excellent health just a twinge of arthritic pain in my knees and fingers.

I will be in Texas at the time of the reunion. It is the time of the International convention for the 12 step group I belong to and will be my 6th. They are held only every 5 years and between 50 and 70 thousand recovering people from all over the world will be there.

I hope you all have a good time at the reunion. So many of us have crossed over.

I attended Potsdam State Teachers College for two years and then married a Civil Engr. Clarkson grad Sam Castronovo in 1962. We spent three years in California before moving to Grand Ledge, MI where we have been for the last 37 years. I received a BA from Michigan State University in 1962 and an MA from Oakland University in 1965. I taught school for 11 years, mathematics and computer science. Moving on, I spent a year as a computer programmer for a local bank before starting work for the State of Michigan in Information Technology. I am retiring as of Jan. 31st leaving my current position as a Division Director with an IT team responsible for issuing the state payroll every two weeks. It's been fun and interesting but it is time to stop.

Sam and I have three children, two girls and a boy and five grand children ranging from 14 years to 2 months. The oldest daughter and son with their families live in North Carolina which is looking better every day. However, we are fortunate to have a daughter, son-in-law and two grandchildren in Lansing, 15 minutes away.

Sam and I like to travel. We started by taking our 12,14 and 16 year olds to Europe for seven weeks a long time ago. The kids (in their thirties with children of their own) still talk about that trip! Since then Sam and I have been to Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Japan, China, Russia, Peru, Argentina and Paraguay. We hope to host two grad students from Russia this spring term who will attend MSU and then travel with them to meet their parents at the end of the term.

Sam retired nine years ago from the State Of Michigan Transportation Dept. but was recruited by a Chicago Engineering Firm to set up an engineering presence in MI for them. He set up and helps maintain an office of about 40+ people now and continues to work as a consultant, loving every moment of it.

In February I am going to Florida to be with my parents. At 95 and 96 they still live on their own, Mom is still driving so watch out if you are in either Zephyrhills, FL in the winter or Fulton in the summer. Brother Walter who graduated in 57 is retired and living in Evanston, IL and sister Margaret, class of 64 lives in the Syracuse area.

Guess this says it all, Sam and I spend time between Grand Ledge, Elk Rapids, MI (our summer home) and visiting North Carolina, living life to the fullest and trying to enjoy every moment.

Update: 11/13/13: Sam and I now split our time between Elk Rapids, MI and Punta Gorda, Fl. Sam has finally retired from AEcom. We spend our time traveling whenever we can. One grandson is married with another following suit this summer in Edmonton, Canada. We like to spend time in NC where the oldest daughter lives and in MN with our son and his family. Our other daughter has  just moved to Boston so that will be added to our travel plans. Sam and I enjoy seeing everyone at the winter mini reunions in Fl.

Hi Everyone, Thank you John for putting together this Website, sure brings back wonderful memories. I have four great kids, and five grandchildren, they are our angels. Kim and Theresa are married, Bill, Jr. is getting married June 29th. Todd is my youngest and is single. Bill, Sr. is semi-retired, and I am still very involved in my charity work. I just finished chairing the Princeton Debutante Ball to benefit Catholic Charities. We are fortunate to get to travel around a bit. Saw Phyllis K.Sommers, had a great visit and she is beautiful. Bill's mother is 92, and still in Oswego, so we get up there every once and a while. Would love to hear from the gang. Phyllis

FHS_Barry&Connie.jpg (120902 bytes)Kudos to John for taking time to remember his classmates and provide us a forum to keep in touch!

Well, the Tompkins have entered the 21st Century! We have finally given up Web TV, and given in to progress. We now have a new "megagazatz" memory computer. I always thought it was somewhat ridiculous to stand in front of one of these all day at work, then come home and sit in front of one for entertainment. Connie didn't agree and bought me one for Christmas. Vive progress!!

After high school, I attended the Albany College of Pharmacy, graduating in 1966. I am married to Connie (Cieszeski) Tompkins (FHS class of 1963).

Connie and I have two wonderful daughters, Amy (Tompkins) Johnston and Karey (Tompkins) Pine. Amy and her husband, Jon have one daughter, Audrey (3), and are expecting twins(!!) in June. Amy is a graduate of Cazenovia College and SUNY at Oswego. Prior to her "retirement," she was a Caseworker for the Oswego County Department of Social Services and then the Director of the Oswego County Youth Advocacy Program. Karey and her husband, Bill, have one daughter, Olivia (5 1/2). Karey graduated from William Smith College and earned her Master's Degree from Rochester Institute of Technology, where she is a department head at the National Technical Institute of the Deaf (NTID).

Connie, after 25 years at home, started working for the local county in 1988. She is currently employed by the County Emergency Management office. I am retired from Fays/Eckerd Drugs and currently employed by Rite Aid Drug Co as Pharmacy Manager of the store three blocks from my home.

As I peruse the profiles, I see many classmates who have not been in attendance at any of the reunions. Trust me folks, they are really loads of fun... I will expect to see each and every one of you at the 45th!!!

Update 12/10/02: Connie and I became grandparents for the third and fourth time on June 20 this year when our daughter, Amy and son-in-law Jon delivered twin boys. The boys weighed in at 7 lbs 1 oz and 7 lbs 7 oz. Their names are Samuel Marc (for Barry, his dad and mom) and Tavish Walker (for Jon's family). Samuel is a duplicate of Barry at the same age and Tavish is Jon's double. Seems only fitting...

First, I'd like to thank John for setting up this web site. Great idea John! Also, there are some great pictures, brings many lots of great memories.

To those classmates who have not attended our class reunions, I would urge you to try and make the next one, everyone would love to see ya. I have attended all of them and each one has been terrific. A lot of the credit goes to our fellow classmates who spend so much effort in setting them up and getting in touch with everybody.

After High School, I joined the US Navy with classmates Joe Pollock and John LaPointe. I was sent to Electronic Technician School at the Great Lakes, Illinois Naval Station. While there, I had some great times with fellow sailors, John Stapley, Ed Coakley, and Mike Nadeau.

After completing training I was sent to the USS Canberra, a heavy guided missile cruiser. I made a 7 month Mediterranean cruise and 2 week Caribbean cruise. This was a great way to travel. You could go ashore in a foreign port, blow all your money, and as long as you could get back to the ship, you knew you had a place to sleep and 3 square meals a day. What a great carefree life! But the winds of change were in the air.

The fall of 1962 saw the Cuban missile crisis arrive. I was yanked off my ship and flown to the island of Trinidad, to set up a CRYPTO Communications center to support the naval ships on the blockade. This turned out to be a life altering experience.

While finishing out my enlistment in Trinidad, I met my wife of 38 years, Joyce. (Those tropical islands do things to ya.) Upon returning to Fulton in 1964, I found no jobs available, so I moved to Rochester. I worked for IBM 30 years as a Field Engineer, retiring in 1995. I was then encouraged by IBM to start my own computer company and become an "IBM Business Partner." I've been running A G Open Systems for 6 years now and am having a ball. I haven't developed an exit strategy yet, so I don't know when I will really retire.

Joyce and I had 4 children, 3 boys and 1 girl. Two boys work for IBM, one works for Penske, and my daughter is a personal trainer for Ballys. We have 4 granddaughters ages 1 to 7. We really enjoy the grandchildren.

Many of you knew my younger sister, Gayle. She lives in Raleigh, NC and is a Director for IBM. ( guess she had all the brains ).

Joyce and I enjoy traveling, and frequently turn business trips into mini vacations. We also enjoy gardening and collecting antiques.

As I look back at my childhood, I feel very grateful. What better time was there to grow up than the 50's, and what better place than Fulton, NY.

I graduated from SU with a BS in Elementary and Special Education in 1964. I married John Taylor in '62 and after teaching K (Syracuse) and 3rd grades (Orchard Park, NY), started a family and stayed home till they were both in school. I then volunteered at a new school for handicapped children, ages 18 mo to 7 yrs, in Andover, MA., They asked me to be their first teacher then the Educational Coordinator. I loved the job even though it didn't pay well and I received few benefits. I learned more about the strength of the will and love for life from those children than any other experience I have had. I attended Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary part time in early 80s. Due to the realities of a divorce in 1986, I finished my masters degree in Educational Administration at Lesley College in Cambridge. I moved back to Fulton in '87 and worked for Oswego County Boces for several years in the Special Ed dept. Once I had enough time in to get into the retirement system of ! NYS, I moved on to be the Special Services Coordinator with Oswego County Head Start...loved it but traveling throughout the county was getting to me and retirement looked good, so I have been a busy homemaker since 1998. To go back a few years, Vern and I dated in High School and as fate intervened we dated again for several years then married in 1994. Our three children stood up with us and we have been having a great time ever since. My son Jay is board certified in Internal medicine and is finishing his residency in neurology at the Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH. He and Rebecca have Spencer (4 1/2) and Coenradt (2 1/2). Anne, my daughter, is a stay-at-home mom to Emma (6) and Charlotte (3). She and Erik live in Wilbraham, MA. Matt, Vern's son, is a CPA and is the VP/comptroller at Nichlas Enterprises in Butler, PA. He and Samantha have Olivia (7), Eliza (3 1/2) and Vanessa (16 mo.) I am delighted to take off and visit whenever I want. Vern continues to lead Oswego Valley Insurance with no signs of retiring. We have visited Alaska, Austria, Germany, Switzerland, Puerto Rico, Ireland and the city of Prague (amazing place). Besides traveling, I enjoy gardening, bird watching, and photography. See you at the next reunion! Gail.

Update 5/13/10: My son Jay is now a practicing neurologist in Brunswick, ME.    My "stay at home Mom" daughter is now teaching at Wilbraham & Monson Academy in Wilbraham MA.  Vern is trying to retire (he only spent one week a month up north this year).  We are at our condo on Ft. Myers Beach from Jan. to May...the best of both worlds!

A few years ago I took a stamping class and got hooked.  Eventually, I decided to combine my photography with card making and started my business...Rivermist Designs.  This year I joined the Art league of Bonita Springs (FL) and took a digital painting class. (hooked again)  I bought Corel Painter 11 and now make cards using my photography with this program.  To add to all this fun, I learned to paint using the Sumi-e technique. (Japanese brush painting).  I can do a pretty good butterfly!  I will continue this class next year.  We have 8 grandkids, ages 7 to 12.  We stay busy visiting our three families in PA, MA and ME.  See you at the 50th reunion.

I married soon after high school and divorced  after one daughter and two sons.  As some of you will remember, John and I were High School sweethearts.  He, too, had married, divorced, and was raising his two sons alone while trying to also juggle an Air Force career, when he learned I'd  remained close to his parents.  Home on leave to see his parents, we met and were surprised to learn the old sparks were still quite lively.  So it was that I left the home area for the first time in my life, hauling a U_HAUL and three kids in tow to take on two more sons and the role of military spouse.  Man, did I learn a lot and fast!! Those of you who were in the military can understand that I never did accept stripes on my shoulders emotionally or other wise.  Being a wise a--  I lost no time in locking horns with the base commander of all people.  And my new lifestyle was off on a run!!!  That's all behind us now. Nothing but memories and experiences .  I can only wish more of our countrymen could experience life  in another country; gives one a whole new outlook on life and a gratitude for what we as Americans enjoy.  Since retiring in 1985 we have just sort of laid back and enjoyed our little toy business.  John makes wood toys which we sell at craft fairs.  And guys, don't believe the bull that it's a different world than we grew up in.  Our best selling items are rubber band guns!  Yes, we make several different types of small toys.   Our kids are, of course, grown and gone.  My only natural grandchild, compliments of my daughter, is nearly twenty one.  John's natural sons each have one child, one a girl and one a boy.  Want to really have some fun?  Both of our oldest sons, as were both our fathers, are named John!  Oh, but that was fun!!!   Well guys, this was difficult for me to start but where to stop?  Here seems like a good spot.   My complete  thanks to you John  for getting this site up and I hope to hear from many of you in the near future.  Write or e-mail me at will!

Charlie and I changed our mind about retiring to warmer climes and instead opted to move closer to our kids and grandchildren. We now live in Hemlock NY (about a half hour south of Rochester). We do before and after school daycare for our middle daughter Lindas twins and each of us commutes an hour + to do one full day a week for our newest grandson (Sarahs infant). We recently adopted our oldest daughter, Sandy. At age 47, she is a grandma too, which makes us great-grandparents. Sandy had been a foster child and has filled the role of our daughter since she was 10. We just finally made it legal.

We are both very involved in our church(es) and the diocese. Charlie is an Episcopal priest and I am very active, as well. We are currently serving different congregations but hope to get back together eventually. I still love interior decorating and have become a pretty active quilter. We love to camp with our family. Life is good and certainly very busy!

As I had previously stated I left FHS in my Jr. year.  I worked at Waynes Drug Store until Dec.58. Joined the Army.  Spent (3) tours in Germany (1) in Viet-Nam "1964."  Retired from Army in Feb.79. Worked around Columbia, SC about 7 years before joining Lexington County Sheriff Department. Retired from there in 1997.  Now here I sit 24/7 with my TV and computer due to my health.  Heart plus I have C O P D.  No big thing.  I do enjoy my life as well as I can.  JOHN and GRACE this site sure does help a lot.  I some time get in it and just get lost for hours at a time. It has been a great help. Hey! If any of you folks (FULTONIONS) happen to get to  Columbia give me a shout. Never know when I make coffee. Can always use the company.

Attended undergraduate school at Michigan State, graduate school at SUNY-Albany and law school at Catholic University.  Worked for D.C. Government as a hearing examiner for the rent control program and as in-house counsel for the D.C. Housing Finance Agency.  Then private practice in D.C.  Left private practice in D.C. to work as a legal services lawyer on the eastern shore of MD.  After two years, relocated to Central NY and took a job with Legal Services of CNY, Inc., where I still work.

Hekia is a 15 year old high school freshman and Aron is a 13 year old 7th grader.  Both keep busy scholastically, athletically, and musically. Hekia plays piano and sax, Aron, the violin begrudgingly.  We live in an old farm house overlooking Skaneateles lake, six miles from the village.  But have lamented failing to purchase and preserve the open space next door when it was for sale last year.  Since then it has been sold and purchaser has "improved" it with a 4 bedroom house.  That is, suburbia is encroaching.  I'll stop now and go jogging before we sit down for Easter dinner.

PS: Trish is employed with a pre-school program in Syracuse that mainstreams disabled kids with those who aren't. It's challenging work, but she enjoys it.

Update July 5, 2010:

I'm still working at legal aid in Syracuse.  Trish is still teaching at Jowonio in Syracuse (a preschool with classrooms that have kids who are developmentally disabled together with kids who do not have any disabilities).  Hekia has just completed her first year at UC-Berkeley after having graduated from Cornell last year.  Aron will be a senior this fall at Bates

Update June 15, 2010

Married a wonderful man, Fran Manale from Oswego.  We had 2 sons and 1 daughter.  He passed on very suddenly in 1983  I was single for 8 years, moved to Charlotte, N.C, met and married another wonderful man who also passed.  (No I did not take lessons in anti freeze.) both men were were a great loss.  Both men taught me so much on my journey in life, and of course I wondered why me God? Later I realized because of those experiences I was developing something far greater in my life then I could ever imagine.

I have two sons Damon and Eric Manale.  Both live in the Carolinas.  My daughter Arin Crowley lives in PA.  Damon has 4 children...Eric has 1...and Arin has 2.

Being single and on my own I guess you could say I followed what Katherine Hepburn said.  I Wanted to look back on my life and say I did it all.  Instead of looking back and saying I wish I had.  With that thought in mind I started a new journey.  It has been incrediable...exciting and very very interesting to say the least.

I've done everything from hosting a consumer's talk show  to being in business for myself, which was the most fun as a professional Fugitive Recovery Agent.  I worked with the International Fugitive Recovery Task Force where I used some unusual skills as a physic.  Finally I am doing the most rewarding work of my life besides being a mother.  I am in the holistic field specializing in spiritual art...painting the beauty and wisdom of the inner spirit of an individual...and then showing the individual how they affect the world.  Some of my work can be viewed on my web site www.visionaryendeavorsllc.com  I am in the process of constructing a much larger site and will be available in July 2010  I can also be contacted through e-mail deltadarragh@comcast.net

Thank you John and Grace for making this site the success it is.

Make it a great life

After Fulton High, graduated from Syracuse University with a major in Chemistry, then graduated with an M.D. degree from Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, interned at St. Joseph's Hospital, completed a residency of 6 years at Johns Hopkins Hospital, joined the academic faculty at UCLA Medical Center in LA, CA, then eventually went into solo private practice in Beverly Hills. Spent 4 years between 1976-1980 as a consultant on the advisory committee in Maternal Fetal Medicine for the Food and Drug Administration in Washington, D.C. After many years in practice, decided to retire and take up the game of golf with my husband, who was a Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at UCLA for many years. We spend our summers in LA where we play golf at the Riveria Country Club and our winters in the desert area east of Palm Springs. We are great travelers and have bicycled through the wine countries in France. I return to Fulton every year, usually in the summer to spend time with my Mother, who still lives in the family home where I grew up. Plan to be there this summer in early August for my Mother's birthday.

I moved to Texas in 1968 and have been here since, working for Petrochemical companies. At the end of May 2002 I intend to retire. I have a lake cabin on Lake Livingston, 80 miles northeast of Houston, and I plan to live there as a home base. Graduated from Dean Junior College in Franklin, MA with an AAS degree in Construction Technology in 1963. Worked for various architects, engineers and construction companies in the Syracuse area until I went to work for Niagara Mohawk Power Corporation in 1979. There I worked in Property Records Engineering and System Building Engineering until 1983 when I transferred to the construction site for the Nine Mile Point Nuclear Generating Plant which was under construction at that time. I spent the next 11 years performing various assignments in the Construction Management Department which monitored the work performance of the building contractors engaged in the construction of the plant. I retired from Niagara Mohawk in 1994 and now I drive a propane truck (just to keep busy) delivering propane (heating fuel) to commercial and residential customers. I was married to Suellen Rutledge (PJ's sister) for 11 years and have 2 daughters. My older daughter gave me two grandsons, but unfortunately was killed, along with her oldest, in an car accident at the age of 24. I am remarried to a great lady that my daughter introduced to me before her untimely death. We have 5 adult children between us and 3 grandchildren with a fourth on the way. We enjoy motorcycling and ride with a group of great friends to various places throughout the northeast.

Update: My younger daughter graduated from Oswego State 3 years ago {1999}, is single, currently working for River Valley Frozen Foods in B'ville and and is pursuing an elementary school teaching position in the North Syracuse School District.

Update 10/19/09: I am completely retired now.  No more work. Just crusin' the roads on my 2004 Triumph Speedmaster and spankin' the little white pill from tee to green every time I get the chance. Also am getting involved in some family history.  Found out I am a direct descendant of King Malcolm of Scotland (circa the 12th century) through my mother's family. Genealogy can be very interesting.  You never know who your ancestors might be.

Great idea John. Brings back a lot of memories. Hard to believe forty years have past.

Worked at Sealright while studying drafting. Worked in the Engineering Department for three years before accepting a position as a designer at Oswego Castings. Company went out of business in 1972. Worked at some companies in Fulton and Syracuse.

Moved to Ohio in 1975 and began a career in the Quality Control field. Eventually become the Quality Manager at several manufacturing companies. Currently hold a position in Corporate Quality. After many years of handling customer complaints, now I mentor and train within the company divisions. We have seven plants with one in Mexico. I travel to all plants including Mexico. Very desirable change as I journey toward retirement, hopefully in five years.

Have two sons and a daughter from my first marriage. I had the good fortune to meet a lovely lady in 1981. We married in 1985. Patti has a son and daughter and we have seven grandchildren from both marriages.

Through the years became interested in music which is my hobby. Played the Hammond organ professionally in Ohio for a few years.

Well, that is my life history. Not much different than anyone else. Hope all former classmates are well and content with their lives. Always remember to put GOD first in your life. Believe me, it does help to bring contentment and especially peace.

Thanks for the website John.

I married Dick in August of 1960. We were married 23 years until his death in 1984 (and they said it wouldn't last!).

We had four beautiful children: Rick (40); Russ (37); and twins Tonda and Tammy (32). Rick lives in and works for the city of Charlotte, NC. Russ is an investigator with the FDA in Syracuse. Tonda is a housewife in Clay and works part time. Tammy is a special education teacher in Fulton.

My kids have given me six beautiful ... and rambunctious ... grandchildren: Caitlyn (15) and Zachary (13) are Russ'. Jordyn (9), Kyle (5) and Connor (3) belong to Tonda and her husband Jim Tracy. And, Alexis (3) is Tammy and her husband, Mike Caruana's first.

For a number of years in the 1970's and 80's Dick and I owned and operated the All American Sub Shop in Fulton. Dick also worked at Armstrong prior to his death from leukemia.

I now work in DeWitt as a billing specialist for Syracuse Orthopedic Specialists. I enjoy it and will be there ... hopefully ... until retirement in two years!!

Upon graduation from high school, I did my undergraduate work at SUNY Oswego earning my B.S. in 1964.  I did my graduate work at Geneseo while I was teaching at North Rose-Wolcott Central for ten years.

During my years at Wolcott, I taught every grade from K- 7th grade math...always coming back to roost at fifth grade.  I found that to be most challenging.  I especially liked that age group.  I did, however, enjoy first grade when I had it....a different kind of challenge!

I made up my mind in 1972 to lose my very excessive weight and went from 268 pounds down to 143.  I've basically maintained that for the past thirty years.

In 1974 I went to Liverpool Central where I taught for twenty-two more years.  The last thirteen years I had all the L.D. and A.D.D. children at the intermediate level.  I sincerely enjoyed working with special needs children and found it most rewarding.

After thirty-two years of teaching, I retired early as Dad had died and there was an extensive amount of work to do in getting his estate settled and disbursed.

When I came to Liverpool, I taught with another single male teacher with whom I became a very close friend.  We had a house built on the Oneida River and lived, taught, and traveled together until his untimely passing in 1988.

I've continued to keep the house with five and a half acres and extensive river frontage.  It seems more demanding, however, as my legs have about given out, and I am on crutches much of the time.  I do, however, keep the outside work done in good weather and make myself get out everyday of the week.  A small group of us meet every week day afternoon at Joey's Fine Dining off Carrier Circle for our Investors' Club meeting.  We watch the market and share ideas for investing.  I refuse to give in.

While Rye was alive, we traveled every summer, Christmas break, and mid-winter recess.  We made it to all fifty states, six continents (Antarctica excluded) forty-two countries, and nine cruises.  We especially enjoyed the Scandinavian countries, Germany, Switzerland, Greece, Italy, China, and Australia...going back several times.  South American and Africa you can keep!  The squalor and poverty were not to my liking.  Now I only travel in the states or on a cruise and live on the thousands of past memories.

I guess I've rambled enough. I hope this gives a skeleton history of my life since high school.

Most sincerely, "Butch" Taylor

FHS_Dusharm.jpg (645939 bytes)Dear fellow classmates, four years after our commencement I was married. We had 3 children together (2 sons and a daughter).  The first-born was William (age 37) married and has a daughter Hailey Rose (age 2).  He has lived in Southern California for 15 years. He lays hardwood floors. Some floors for movie stars (Alan Alda on M*A*S*H for one) and many more.  Our second child was born April 1967 and is now 35.  She is married and her husband is a building designer. They have two children: Jennifer is a junior (age 17) and James is a sophomore (age16).  She has a degree in human services, and doing very well for herself. Our third child was a boy and we named him David.  David was the best looking senior class male. I told him it was because he looked like me. He also was MVP for his high school basketball team.  He was one of the top students in his class. He is now a sheet metalist by trade.  He lives in Canandaiqua with his younger brother and has never married (as yet anyway).

After 6 years our marriage failed for various personal reasons. Three years later I remarried to a man in the Navy. Our first child was born in the Navy hospital 30 years ago. I always kidded her and told her she came into this world saluting. She has never been married but has two children (Lance, age 5, kindergarten), and Kari, age 2.  She has a very secure job. She has worked for the State for 5 years.

Our next born was James, now age 26.  He was born on Father's Day.  He has a degree in criminal justice.  I'm glad he didn't pursue it.  He is a people person like his mother.  He is a car salesman (3 years now).  He has been awarded many plaques for top-salesman of the month.  He lives in Canandaiqua with his brother, David.  Enough about my children.

Some about me now: I graduated from a two-year college with a duo degree in human services and humanities. I worked several years with develop mentally clients (enjoyed every minute of it).  I remarried after being single 13 years (what an adjustment!!!!!!!!!).  Homer is a retired fruit farmer.  He sold the farm a few years ago but kept the house he has always lived in. His grandfather built it many, many years ago.  God saved the best for last for me (I really mean that).  We married October 30th 1999.  We spend the winter months in Florida.  So from time to time my e-mail address will change.

We have had our 10th, 20th, 25th, 30th and 40th and I have attended all five. I sure would like us to have a 45th for the years go by so fast. I realize it is a lot of work, but would be happy to help any way I could classmates.

May God keep blessing the Class of 1960.

Update: March 22, 2004
Dear fellow classmates, it has been sometime since I have been in contact with my class. I now have a new e-mail address: Jessienhomer@aol.com. Unfortunately this past Thursday at 1:00 AM my brother Dave Dusharm who lived at Michaud Nursing Home for many years, passed away in his sleep.  It was tough and a very hard pill to swallow. At leased he didn't have to suffer. He was only 53.  He had a motorbike accident back on September 23, 1969, the same year he graduated from high school.  He still holds the record for pole-vaulting over 12 ft.  I know he is walking now with our Heavenly Father. He was always wheelchair bound after the accident. He was one of the original residents. He had been there 30 years. He always spoke well of others and found the good in people and not the negative.

Update: March 19, 2005

It will be two years this September that I returned to work. Back in November, 1993 I took seriously ill and had to quit work. Due to a medical error, I was given too many mixtures of medication while in the hospital. I went into cardiac arrest. I was on life support for three days. I'm thankful to God that I'm a living miracle. Ten years later I went back to the same job. That is assisting develop mental. I'm soon going to per diem. My two youngest grandchildren are in school now. I desire to spend more time with them on the weekends. Weekends is what I have been working. One year ago yesterday the 18th my brother David Dusharm passed away at the age of 53. He had been handicapped for 35 years due to a motorbike accident. So long for now, I look forward to our class reunion in August.

Update July 7, 2010:

Two years ago come October my husband and i sold the house he grew up in. It was most difficult for him. It was the only home he ever knew. We moved into a senior complex for a couple of months. It was too confining for Homer. He had been a fruit farmer all his working life. I would have been happy there. We bought a modular. We are living very happily in it.

I'm still working the same place I started out at 23 years ago (only part-time) for my husband is failing in his health. I haven't come to that point of leaving my dear sweet develop-mental people. I'm sure the time will come when god will point it out to me when to fully retire.

Just recently my eldest grand-daughter made me a great grand-mother. She is a darling baby girl and her name is Natalie. From time to time I see the other grand-children. The only one that lives out of state is Haily Rose and she lives in California.

My daughter Carol gave birth to twin sons (David and Nicholas) 2 1/2 years ago. She makes a wonderful mother and a grandma to Natalie. She loves being a grandma. She had the twins at age 40. Her husband had never been married and never had any children of his own. So he and Carol did the in vitro procedure. Her eldest daughter is 25 and son is 24.

Well I will close with the thoughts that it is great preparing for our 50th year class reunion. Looking forward to seeing everyone.

Wow, this is truly amazing. I moved to Fulton at the start of my sophomore year and this has been a kick. I attended Oswego, transferred to Jacksonville State and graduated with the good old teaching degree. Met my husband, he was from Westhampton Beach, and married. We moved north so he could finish school at Cortland, then on to Franklin and Marshall for his masters, and then...Penn State for his PhD. in Geology. He got a job in the oil business which moved us all over the United State and gave us many travel opportunities. He now has his own company and I just finished my 26th year of teaching. Which I still love, though it has gotten harder. We have two boys, Mark and Derek. Mark lives here in Houston, is a Crime Scenes Unit investigator for HPD. (Its not quite like the TV show, but close.) He also just passed the bar. He has one son, a wild man, with red hair. I never thought I would say this but having a grandchild is fabulous. Our second son lives in Manhattan is the stage events manager for a company that does all types of events from Broadway shows to trade shows to board meetings. He, too, is married. Retirement is off in the future for awhile, economic downturns seem to dictate this. Have only been back to Fulton once approximately 10 years ago. I love to travel, favorites are Paris, Italy, Scotland, well really just lots of places. My wanderlust is strong. I have a great marriage, great kids, and good life more than I every thought 40 years ago. Thanks for doing this, it's really amazing.
